The SOS - Screen Our Schools Challenge combines heart health education, social impact, student leadership and community action in a curriculum aligned manner.
Students learn abouts Cardiac Health, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and cardiac screening before turning that knowledge into an awareness project for their school or wider community.

What does the teacher do?
Your role is to facilitate, guide and support. You help students research, form teams, develop appropriate campaigns, engage their school and community and measure the impact of their work.
Recognition and Achievement
Students and teams can achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold levels based on learning, action, measurable impact and leadership.
Designed to compliment Transition Year
SOS can work as a standalone Transition Year Project or connect with existing school activity including Gaisce, Young Social Innovators, Enterprise Projects, Wellbeing initiatives and community engagment.
